Ardingly Country Home

This spacious country home in the heart of Mid Sussex underwent a transformative renovation, redefining the ground floor into a modern and sophisticated living space.

To enhance openness and natural light, Elizabeth removed the brick wall separating the kitchen and entrance hall, replacing it with sleek sliding Crittall doors. These contemporary doors were also introduced throughout the interior, seamlessly blending modern aesthetics with the home’s traditional charm.

Wide-plank oak flooring with an antique finish was installed across most of the ground floor, creating a harmonious balance between classic and contemporary elements.

The lounge, previously under-utilised, was reimagined into an inviting family gathering space. A new limestone fireplace and bespoke fitted joinery were designed to illuminate and showcase existing sculptures, establishing a striking focal point.

A vibrant, custom-designed sofa adorned with a selection of patterned cushions transformed a previously unused room into a lively and practical family space

A neutral colour palette was chosen for the main living areas to highlight the client’s vibrant artwork and sculptures. In contrast, the snug was painted a rich deep blue, with the addition of a new fireplace to create a warm and inviting space for relaxation and reading, further elevated by bespoke joinery.
